Peshawar no longer under threat: NWFP IG
LAHORE: Peshawar is no longer under any threat and the writ of the state has been restored in volatile suburbs and nearby villages, NWFP police chief Malik Naveed said on Sunday. Talking to a private TV channel, Naveed said crime had increased in the recent days “because the criminals have joined hands with the militants”. Unemployment is the root cause of crime, he said, adding that the NWFP chief minister had taken special measures to overcome unemployment. He urged people to support the security forces in tackling crime. daily times monitor
